Ray Miller
Ray Miller (1939 – 2021)
Ray Miller was born in 1939 and grew up in Katy, Texas. A gifted student, he excelled at the University of Texas receiving both his undergraduate degree and law degree with honors. In the distinguished class of 1963, he was an associate editor of the law review, a member of the Order of the Coif, and Chancellors. In recognition of his qualifications, the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, Justice Robert Calvert selected him as one of his law clerks. He spent his entire career as a lawyer in Corpus Christi. A specialist in a time of generalists, Ray was well known for his expertise in Estate and Trust law. He was listed in Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates and was selected as a fellow of both the exclusive American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the Texas Academy of Probate and Trust Lawyers. Ray was a founder of the firm now known as Branscomb Law and was instrumental to its success for almost five decades. Even after his retirement, he still stopped by the office almost every day, and his calm demeanor and friendly smile will be missed by all his colleagues. His was truly a life of accomplishment, excellence, and service to others.
