BRANSCOMB LAW Adds Amanda Torres

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Veteran litigator Amanda Torres has rejoined Branscomb Law, having recently completed an interim term as presiding judge of Nueces County Court at Law No. 5. Judge Torres was previously with the firm from 2013 through early 2014, and she returns as Senior Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She will focus on trust, estate and guardianship issues, in addition to representing individuals and businesses in construction, consumer, collections, and other civil litigation matters.

“In addition to her experience as a former prosecutor with 25 jury trials, Judge Torres brings to our firm a unique perspective on trial matters, which she gained as a County Court at Law Judge and previously as a Nueces County Justice of the Peace,” said firm President Jim Clancy. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Torres graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence after completing her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University. She is a member of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas. Her professional accomplishments include:

*Former Nueces County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 1, September, 2009 – December, 2012

*Former Nueces County Assistant District Attorney, January 2008 – September 2009

*Director, Texas Young Lawyer’s Association

*Former Member of the Board of Directors, Texas Justice Court Training Center
