Wafa grew up between St. Louis, Missouri and Houston, Texas. She has a passion for working with refugees, and is a volunteer with An Nisa Hope Center in Houston. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature and writing literary fiction while pursuing her MFA at Warren Wilson. She lives in Corpus Christi with her husband.
